A bariatric surgical procedure to help a patient to reduce weight at Flinders Medical Centre in South Australia was beamed live via Internet2 to Kyushu University Hospital staff in Fukuoka, Japan and NUS staff in the CIT Auditorium. This was the first time that the three countries were connected for teleconferencing by high-speed broadband instead of ISDN lines.
