IVLE 8 uses Microsoft .NET Framework Version 2.0 with ASP.NET Version 2.0. This enables new features in IVLE such as workspace customization. It also allows IVLE to be more scalable. As such, there will be greater flexibility to add powerful new functions and features to IVLE.

On entering IVLE 8 Alpha, you will notice that there are many similar functions as well as a roughly familiar look and feel. This has been done to reduce the learning curve required for using the new version.
