NETg online course integration
NETg provides over 450 interactive online IT and non-IT courses. These include generic PC applications, specialised IT skills and personal & professional development. CIT has integrated these courses with IVLE.

If you want your students to take an applicable course, you can choose a NETg course from the Multimedia tool in IVLE. You can then attach the course to the respective lesson so that students can attempt the course at the appropriate time.

My Communities for staff
CIT has introduced My Communities for staff. With this new feature, NUS staff can now create virtual communities in IVLE. You can create communities based on your professional or personal interests - anything and everything under the sun.

Each community - which can be private or public - allows for discussions in the forum, sharing and storage of files as well as sharing of related web links. These facilities allow for collaboration and communication outside of module-related work. Staff from different faculties and departments can now engage each other in a cross-disciplinary and holistic common space through My Communities.

Some pioneering staff have already created interest groups in My Communities. We encourage you to explore the list of communities and join those that interest you. If your interest does not have a group, be the first to create one, then invite other like-minded staff to join!

To create a new community:

  1. Click My Communities under Resources in My Workspace.

  2. Click

  3. Read the instructions and legal agreement.

  4. Fill in the relevant fields, check the box if you want a workbin.

  5. Click , if you accept the agreement.

  6. You have created your first community in My Communities!
