CIT Multimedia staff distinguish themselves in The Communicator Awards 2004 Video Competition

The Centre for Instructional Technology's Multimedia Team has gained international recognition, for the eighth year running, as multiple award winners in The Communicator Awards 2004 Video Competition.

Distinguishing itself as one of the best works, the OSA Student Life Video 2004 brought home the Crystal Award of Excellence. This video features the dynamic aspects of student life at NUS, showing that students here are not merely academic achievers but well-rounded individuals.

This video entry was Media Producer Claudine Foo's first submission to The Communicator Awards. Asked what the secret to the team's success is, Claudine reveals, "I think there's no big secret. It's basically a lot of hard work, good team effort and commitment to fulfill our clients' needs."

Two other CIT-produced videos earned plaudits. An Award of Distinction was bestowed on the NUS Nanoscience and Nanotechnology Initiative video for surpassing industry standards in production or communication skills. The Centre for English Language Communication corporate video received an Honorable Mention.

Principal Media Producer Manuel Gamboa submitted these videos and is proud that an international awards body has continually recognized the Multimedia Team's work. "Video is a form of service where your objective is to show the best in the client," Manuel explains, "One has to give everything, even going to the extent of playing cameo roles!"

The Communicator Awards is an annual international awards competition set up by communications professionals to recognize outstanding effort in the industry. Award winners set the benchmark for future productions. The 2004 awards drew 2,937 entries from 48 American states and seven entries from other countries, including Singapore.
