The Surgery and Minimally Access Research and Training Laboratory (SMART Lab) contains 10 full HD working stations which allow surgeons to practice and improve their surgical skills while performing an operation. The setup of the SMART Lab is exactly like that of an operating theatre, so as to sufficiently prepare surgical students visually and mentally even before some of them perform a surgery proper. The layout gives surgical students a genuine feel of how real surgeries are conducted, which is essential in their preparation in becoming qualified surgeons.
